Get involved in the TFIA

The Tobacco Free Idaho Alliance (TFIA) is an umbrella alliance of statewide stakeholders in tobacco control and prevention. The mission of TFIA is to protect health in Idaho. Current members include, but not limited to, representatives from the following: health organizations, local health departments, state health departments, hospitals, military, education, health care providers, Native American tribes, organizations serving Latino populations and individuals passionate about tobacco prevention and control.

TFIA seeks to accomplish the following:

  • Support effective tobacco prevention, reduction and cessation
  • Encourage new and innovative initiatives conducive to community based anti–tobacco programs sponsored by federal, local, and national agencies
  • Uphold current federal, state, and local laws related to tobacco
  • Support critical federal, state and local components of tobacco prevention including: develop a statewide collaborative current tobacco prevention and control plan, create resources for community outreach and mobilization, support and initiating quantitative and/or qualitative evaluation of federal, state, and local tobacco control interventions
  • Participating in youth focused prevention and intervention efforts
